The short answer
Haden 3.5-litre Slow Cooker with Timer

Most of the slow cookers we shortlisted on Amazon.in are American models, and the line that matters most for an Indian kitchen sits deep in the details table: the voltage. Six of the nine slow cookers we shortlisted, from Hamilton Beach, Crock-Pot and Elite Gourmet, are listed at 120 volts, and none of those six listings mentions a step-down transformer.
We read 30 Amazon.in listings and shortlisted 10: nine slow cookers and one pressure multi-cooker with a slow-cook setting. Two of the nine are Haden 3.5-litre cookers, one with a timer and one sold as a manual model. Some real slow cookers still never made the shortlist. Pringle models, including a black version of the twin-pot we recommend, and a Haden with the same title as our pick were cut for too little buyer history, and a Bergner twin-pot cooker sold for food warming and slow cooking was cut because its title calls it an "Electric Cooker" rather than a slow cooker. We also read the brand's own pages for the Pringle, Nutricook and Hamilton Beach models we discuss; Haden's site wouldn't load for us. Nobody here has cooked in any of these, so this is a reading of listings and spec pages.
Our pick is the Haden 3.5-litre Slow Cooker with Timer, listed at 220 volts with one ceramic pot and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. If you don't need the timer, Haden's manual version has the same pot, power and settings and is listed at 240 volts. If you want two dishes going at once, Pringle's FW1807 has two 1.25-litre pots at 230 volts. If you'd rather have a pressure cooker that can also slow-cook, the Nutricook Smart Pot 2 holds 6 litres and states a 2-year warranty on the base and service offices across India.

Why it's on the list
- Listed at 220 volts
- One 3.5-litre ceramic pot
- 1-year warranty, manufacturing defects
Worth knowing
- We couldn't load Haden's own site, so nothing here is checked against a brand page. The listing also disagrees with itself on size: a bullet gives the product dimension as 18x18x15 with no unit, while the details table says 13D x 20W x 15H centimetres.
- The model field reads only "Slow Cooker", and Haden's manual cooker has a near-identical title. Order from ASIN B083SBG7L2, the listing we read, and check the ASIN rather than the title, since another Haden listing has the same title.
- The listing doesn't say who handles warranty claims or give a phone number in the parts we read; it names PTC Engineering as importer and packer.
Skip it if you want onsite service written into the warranty, a pot bigger than 3.5 litres, or don't need a timer (Haden's manual version then does the same job).
The reasoning
Four listings on the shortlist are listed at 220 volts or more: this Haden, Haden's manual 3.5-litre cooker, the Pringle FW1807 and the Nutricook Smart Pot 2. Of the three that are plain slow cookers, the two Hadens have the bigger pot, a single 3.5 litres against the Pringle's two pots of 1.25 litres each. The Hamilton Beach 33664 and 33140V and the Crock-Pot hold more on paper, but all three are listed at 120 volts.
The listing describes a stainless steel cooker with a ceramic pot, a glass lid and 3 heat settings (warm, low and high), drawing 200 watts. The title and one bullet mention a timer, and that is the feature that separates it from Haden's manual version, whose title and model field don't mention one and whose Controller Type field reads "Manual". Neither the Pringle listing nor Pringle's own page mentions a timer either. The Haden listing doesn't say how long the timer runs or what the cooker does when it ends, so count it as a convenience you'll have to learn from the manual.
The warranty sits in a bullet: 1 year against manufacturing defects, with a line saying the brand is "just a phone call away", though the parts of the listing we read give no number. The packer is named as PTC Engineering India Pvt Ltd, with an address in Uttar Pradesh. The Pringle has a clearer service promise (onsite, on both its listing and Pringle's own page), and if that matters more to you than pot size, it's a fair choice.
The Nutricook Smart Pot 2 beats the Haden on paper for size (6 litres) and warranty (2 years on the base). We didn't make it the main pick because it is a pressure cooker first, drawing 1000 watts, and slow cooking is one of its 9 settings on the listing. If you want a plain slow cooker with a ceramic pot and a timer, this Haden is the only one on the shortlist listed for Indian voltage that mentions a timer (the Nutricook is programmable, but it is a pressure cooker first).
Pringle FW1807 Dual Slow Cooker (2 x 1.25 litres)
Two 1.25-litre ceramic pots on one 230-volt base, with an onsite warranty, for cooking or keeping warm a dal and a sabzi side by side.

Worth knowing
- The warranty term depends on where you read it. The Amazon.in listing's title and warranty field say 1 year onsite; Pringle's own product page lists "3 Yr Onsite Warranty". Plan on the 1 year, and ask Pringle on +91 87449 00071 whether the longer term applies to an Amazon.in purchase.
- Both the listing and Pringle's page give the weight as 930 g (0.93 kg on the page) and the size as 34D x 25W x 15H centimetres.
- A black version of this cooker has its own Amazon.in listing; we read the copper one.
- Hamilton Beach's slow cooker guide, written for its own models, says to use Keep Warm only for food that's fully cooked and already hot, and not to reheat food on it: reheat leftovers on Low or High first, then switch to Keep Warm. Pringle's page says nothing either way about reheating on Keep Warm, so check the manual that comes with the cooker.
Skip it if you want to cook one large batch, since each pot holds 1.25 litres.
The reasoning
This is a twin-pot cooker: two removable 1.25-litre oval ceramic pots with glass lids on one base, for 2.5 litres in total. The listing and Pringle's own page agree on 230 volts, 200 watts and three settings, low, high and keep warm. The listing's title also calls it a multi-pot buffet server, and Pringle's page title calls it an electric food warmer. On paper it suits two smaller dishes rather than one large one.
Its strength is the service promise. The listing's title and warranty field say "1 Yr onsite Warranty", and Pringle's own page gives a customer support number, +91 87449 00071. The importer, Pringle Homeware Pvt Ltd, is in Sonipat, Haryana.
Against the Haden, it has a smaller total capacity and no timer mentioned on the listing or on Pringle's page. If you mostly cook one big pot, the Haden makes more sense; if you want two things on the table warm at once, this one is built for that and states its service more clearly.
Nutricook Smart Pot 2 (6 litres)
A 6-litre electric pressure cooker with a slow-cook setting, a stainless steel pot and a 2-year warranty on the base, for a kitchen that has room for one appliance rather than two.

Worth knowing
- The brand page we could read is Nutricook's UAE site, not an Indian one (nutricook.in returned an error page). It agrees with the listing on 1000 watts and lists 220-240V, but it describes 12 customizable presets where the listing says 9 one-touch pre-sets, and gives the weight as 5.8 kg against 5 kg 600 g on the listing.
- The listing's warranty is on the "base product". It doesn't say whether the inner pot, lid or sealing ring are covered.
- Nutricook's page warns that all parts must be completely dry before the pot is connected to a power outlet, because wet parts can cause electric shock, and says not to use abrasive cleaners, steel wool or scouring pads.
- The listing's title gives the size as 6 QT (5.7L) while its Capacity field says 6 litres.
Skip it if you want a plain slow cooker with a ceramic pot, or don't need pressure cooking.
The reasoning
This isn't a slow cooker in the usual sense. It's an electric pressure cooker that also sautés, steams, makes rice and yogurt, and has a slow-cook setting. Nutricook's page gives that setting a range of 10 minutes to 24 hours. The inner pot is stainless steel rather than ceramic, and the base draws 1000 watts against the Haden's 200.
What it does better than the two slow cookers is in writing. The listing states a 6-litre capacity and "2 Years warranty on base product", and says Nutricook has 90+ offices across India offering door-step service, with free installation and home service through customer care. The listing names Frootle India Pvt Ltd as importer.
Pick it if you'd use the pressure cooker most days and slow-cook now and then. If slow cooking is the point, the Haden's ceramic pot and lower power draw are closer to what most people mean by a slow cooker.

Cut 20: 13 × not a slow cooker, by its own title · 7 × too little buyer history on Amazon.in
- Cut 13 listings the rule didn't count as slow cookers. Most were pressure multi-cookers, rice cookers and multipurpose kettles, but one is a real slow cooker of a kind: a Bergner twin-pot with ceramic pots, sold for food warming and slow cooking, whose title says "Electric Cooker" instead of "slow cooker".
- Cut 7 listings with too little buyer history on Amazon.in to include.
- Those 7 were mostly real slow cookers: Pringle models (one a black version of the twin-pot we recommend) and a Haden with the same title as our pick, plus pressure multi-cookers from Crock-Pot and Bergner.
- Compared the 10 that were left on voltage first, then capacity, power draw, heat settings, what each listing says about the warranty and service in India, and what comes in the box.
- Read the brand's own pages for the Pringle, Nutricook and Hamilton Beach models. Haden's site, hadenappliances.com, didn't load for us (the connection was reset, and plain http returned an error), so both Haden listings rest on Amazon.in alone.

What we ruled out
- Haden 3.5-litre SlowCooker, manual (B00SN3F5H4)The closest rival to our pick, and a fair choice if you don't want a timer. Its listing gives the same 3.5-litre capacity, 200 watts, warm, low and high settings and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects, and PTC Engineering is named as importer on both listings. It is listed at 240 volts against our pick's 220, and its weight field reads 3 kg 500 g against 4 kg 150 g. What it lacks is the timer: its title and model field don't mention one, and its Controller Type field reads "Manual". Only one of its bullets was captured, so some of what it says may be missing from what we read.
- Hamilton Beach 33664 6-quart slow cookerBigger than the Haden (6 quarts, which the listing converts to 5.7 litres) and it has folding handles, but the listing gives 120 volts. Hamilton Beach's use and care guide for its other slow cookers (it lists models such as the 33140, not the 33664) says that warranty applies to products bought and used in the U.S. and Canada and is void if the cooker is run on a voltage other than the one on its label.
- Crock-Pot 7-quart MyTime Cook & Carry (CPSCVTS70LL-S)A 7-quart (6.6-litre) pot, bigger than any of our picks, with a locking lid and a programmable countdown display, but the listing gives 120 volts, and the parts of the listing we read state no warranty term. Crock-Pot's own site refused our request with an error.
- Hamilton Beach 33140V 4-quart slow cookerListed at 120 volts, and Hamilton Beach's guide lists the 33140 at 120 V and 195 W. The listing's model field says 33140G while the title says 33140V, and its weight field reads 0.28 g.
- Elite Gourmet MST-250XS and MST-250XBX 1.5-quart slow cookersTwo small 1.4-litre cookers, both listed at 120 volts. The parts of the MST-250XS listing we read state no warranty term. The MST-250XBX gives a 1-year limited warranty and a US-based customer support team, and its listing disagrees with itself, as the Haden's does on size: a bullet calls the lid and pot dishwasher safe, while the details table says "No".
- Elite Cuisine MST-275XR 2-quart slow cookerListed at 120 volts, with a 1-year limited warranty and a U.S. based customer support team. At 1.9 litres it is also much smaller than the Haden.
Before you buy
Read the voltage line first
Six of the nine slow cookers we shortlisted are listed at 120 volts. Only the two Hadens (220 and 240), the Pringle (230) and the Nutricook multi-cooker (220) are listed for a higher voltage. These six are rated for 120 volts, the US supply. Hamilton Beach's slow cooker guide, written for models such as the 33140, covers only products bought and used in the U.S. and Canada, and voids the warranty on any voltage and waveform other than the one on the cooker's label, so a step-down transformer doesn't put an Amazon.in purchase under that warranty, and the same guide says never to use the cooker with an extension cord. Don't plug a 120-volt cooker into an Indian socket. That is why none of the 120-volt cookers is a pick here, however large its pot.
Quarts are not litres
American listings give size in quarts. The Size field usually converts it: the Hamilton Beach 33664's 6 quarts is 5.7 litres, and the Elite Gourmet 1.5-quart cookers are 1.4 litres.
Check who honours the warranty
Hamilton Beach's use and care guide for its slow cookers such as the 33140 limits its warranty to products bought and used in the U.S. and Canada, and two Elite listings point to a US-based support team. Of the three picks, the Nutricook listing gives 2 years on the base product and service offices in India, the Pringle listing gives 1 year onsite, and the Haden listing gives 1 year against manufacturing defects.
Slow cooker or multi-cooker
The Hadens and the Pringle have ceramic pots and draw 200 watts. A pressure multi-cooker like the Nutricook has a steel pot, draws 1000 watts and has slow cooking as one setting among several. Decide which you'll use more before comparing models.
