Beard trimmer listings on Amazon.in tend to promise the same things: plenty of length settings, a long runtime and a warranty of a year or more. The trouble is in the small print, where a listing's title, bullets and details table often disagree with each other, or with the brand's own page. Nearly half of what comes up is also not a plain trimmer but an all-in-one grooming kit with extra heads for nose, ear or body.
We read 30 Amazon.in listings, shortlisted 29 and compared all of them, kits included, on the range of lengths each one cuts to, runtime and charge time, the warranty and how you claim it, what comes in the box, and any water claim. For 12 of them, from Xiaomi, Philips, Bombay Shaving Company and Vega, we also read the brand's own product page, and we read Xiaomi's and Philips's warranty policies. Nobody here has trimmed with any of them, so this is a reading of specifications.
A plain beard trimmer suits most people, and our pick is the Xiaomi Beard Trimmer 2C, which cuts from 0.5 mm to 20 mm with its two combs and whose listing and Xiaomi pages agree on its length range, runtime, charge time and warranty. If you also want nose, ear and body tools, the Philips MG9532 is the kit to look at: it reaches 20 mm too, runs longer and is sold as shower proof. If your beard stays at 10 mm or shorter and you want a longer warranty than Xiaomi's, the Philips Beard Trimmer 3000 (BT3325/30) fits. And if you keep stubble and also want to shave and line up edges, the Philips OneBlade (QP2724/10) does all three.
Xiaomi Beard Trimmer 2C

Why it's on the list
- 40 length settings, 0.5 to 20 mm
- Up to 90 minutes a charge
- Travel pouch and cleaning brush included
Worth knowing
- The warranty is the shortest of our picks. Xiaomi's warranty page lists beard trimmers at 1 year, for manufacturing defects only, with service listed as "Walk in". The listing agrees on 1 year.
- Neither the listing nor Xiaomi's pages give an IPX figure or say it can be used in the shower. What Xiaomi's page does say is that the blade detaches and can be washed with water.
- The "Included Components" field in the listing's bullets names only the charging cable, though another bullet mentions the pouch and cleaning brush, and the details table and Xiaomi's package list both itemise the combs, brush, pouch and manual as well.
Skip it if your beard never goes past 10 mm and you'd rather have a 2-year warranty, you want to use the trimmer in the shower, or you want nose, ear and body heads in the same box.
The reasoning
The Trimmer 2C comes with two combs that share 40 length settings between them. Xiaomi's spec page splits the range clearly: 0.5 to 10 mm on the small comb and 10.5 to 20 mm on the large one, with the precision given as 0.5 mm. The Amazon.in listing gives the same 0.5 mm minimum and 20 mm maximum.
Among the plain beard trimmers we picked, length is what decided it: the Philips BT3325/30 stops at 10 mm and the OneBlade's combs at 5 mm. On power, Xiaomi's page and the listing agree on up to 90 minutes of running time from a 2-hour charge over USB Type-C, from an 800 mAh lithium-ion battery on Xiaomi's spec sheet. The box matches too: Xiaomi's package list (the trimmer, 2 combs, a charging cable, a cleaning brush, a travel pouch and a user manual) is the same as the components list in the listing's details table. A safety lock, which takes a 3-second press to activate, is what Xiaomi's page pitches for travel.
Two plain trimmers came close. Vega's Power Lite (VHTH-38) also offers 40 settings from 0.5 to 20 mm and 90 minutes, and Vega's page gives it 2 years of warranty (1 year standard plus 1 year extended), which is longer than Xiaomi's 1 year. But Vega's own page describes Micro USB charging while the listing says Type-C, and the listing gives 1 year in one bullet but 2 years in its title and details, without saying what the extended year requires. Bombay Shaving Company's Power Styler lists 120 minutes and 38 settings, but its water claim doesn't hold up (see the ruled-out list). If a longer warranty matters more to you than those mismatches, look at the Vega.
Why a plain trimmer and not a kit: the beard is the job, and everything a kit adds (nose and ear, body, head hair) is extra. Xiaomi's own Grooming Kit shows the difference plainly. Its spec page gives the same 0.5 to 20 mm across 2 combs, 40 settings, 90 minutes and 2-hour charge as the 2C, and adds a precision blade, a nose and ear trimming blade and a body grooming blade. If you'd use those heads, look at a kit; the Philips MG9532 below runs longer, charges faster and claims shower use, though it gives 26 beard settings to the 2C's 40.
Philips All-in-One Trimmer 9000 Series (MG9532/15)
A 16-tool Philips grooming kit whose beard combs reach 20 mm, with up to 120 minutes of running time and shower use, for people who want one kit for beard, nose, ears and body.

Worth knowing
- The Amazon.in listing has a single feature bullet and gives no length range. Its details table says 12 settings, while Philips's page says 26; go by Philips's page. The listing's title agrees with the page on 120 minutes, a 1-hour charge and water use.
- Anything beyond Philips India's standard 24 months depends on registering on Philips.com within 90 days, so register early and keep the invoice. Philips's policy also excludes damage from water unless the user manual says the product may be rinsed; Philips's page calls the MG9532 100% shower proof, but we haven't read its manual.
- Philips's page lists a cleaning brush, a simple pouch and a travel lock attachment, and USB-A charging with no adapter included. It doesn't give the kit's weight.
Skip it if you only ever trim your beard and don't want the extra tools, or you'd rather not register the product to get more than 24 months of cover.
The reasoning
Philips's page lists 16 tools for face, head and body, including a nose trimmer, a detail trimmer, a metal trimmer and a body trimmer. For the beard, its combs give 26 length settings from 0.5 to 20 mm: adjustable combs covering 3 to 7 mm, 9 to 13 mm and 16 to 20 mm, stubble combs at 1 and 2 mm, and a precision comb with 11 settings from 1 to 3 mm in 0.2 mm steps.
What decided it among the kits is that it pairs a 20 mm reach with up to 120 minutes of running time and a shower-proof claim; none of the others is shown to have all three. Philips's pages give the MG7931 and MG7922 the same up to 120 minutes from a 60-minute charge, the same 100% shower proof claim and the same warranty of up to 5 years, but stop both at 16 mm, and the MG5932 at 16 mm with 7 settings. Xiaomi's Grooming Kit reaches 20 mm with more settings (40), but Xiaomi gives it up to 90 minutes from a 2-hour charge, washable attachments rather than shower use, and 1 year of warranty. Philips's MG3941 and MG3927 pages stop at 16 and 12 mm and describe rinseable attachments; Lifelong's LLPCM304 combs stop at 16 mm; and the Bombay Shaving Company 11-in-1, Beardo's Godfather and Beardo's Ape-X Prime don't give their comb lengths in the parts of the listings we could read.
Against our pick for most people, the Xiaomi 2C, it runs longer (up to 120 minutes against 90), charges faster (60 minutes against 2 hours), is sold as 100% shower proof (the listing says IPX7) and carries a longer warranty: 24 months under Philips India's policy, and up to 5 years if you register it. The 2C gives more settings (40 against 26) and is the trimmer alone.
Philips's page gives a warranty of up to 5 years, with a footnote that this applies upon registration on Philips.com within 90 days of purchase; the listing's title says "5yr warranty*". Philips India's warranty policy lists men's shaving and grooming at 24 months, and says Philips arranges free service for a defect reported in that time, provided the product was used as the user manual says, and may replace the product, with a new or refurbished one, where a repair isn't possible.
Philips Beard Trimmer 3000 (BT3325/30)

- Charging
- USB-A cable, adapter not includedPhilips BT3325/30 product page
- Blades
- Self-sharpening, rounded tips, no blade oil requiredPhilips BT3325/30 product page
Worth knowing
- The listing's title says "3 yrs warranty*" and a bullet promises 2+1 years "with Philips registration", but Philips's own product page says 2 years and doesn't mention a third. Philips's policy says only that extended warranty is available on some products and needs registering with a My Philips account within 90 days, so register early and keep the invoice.
- Philips's policy excludes damage from water unless the user manual says the product may be rinsed. Philips's page says to detach the head and rinse it under the tap, then dry it before putting it back on.
- The listing mentions a 15-minute quick charge for one trim; the Philips product page we read doesn't mention it. Neither the listing nor Philips's page itemises what comes in the box beyond the USB cable.
Skip it if you grow your beard longer than 10 mm, or want more than an hour of running time per charge.
The reasoning
You set the length on this one by turning a precision dial to one of 10 settings between 0.5 and 10 mm, which Philips's page describes as 1 mm precision steps. Philips also lists Lift & Trim combs that lift hairs towards the blade, and self-sharpening steel blades with rounded tips that need no blade oil. That covers stubble and a short beard; past 10 mm, among our picks, you'd need the Xiaomi or the MG9532 kit.
The reason to choose it over the Xiaomi is the warranty. Philips's product page gives 2 years, and Philips India's warranty policy lists men's shaving and grooming at 24 months. The policy says Philips arranges free service for a defect reported in that time, provided the product was used as the user manual says, and may replace the trimmer, with a new or refurbished one, where a repair isn't possible. The listing goes further and promises 2+1 years "with Philips registration". Philips's policy says extended warranty means registering the product with a MyPhilips account within 90 days. Philips's all-in-one kits on the shortlist go further on paper, up to 5 years on registration for the MG9532 above, but they are kits; this is a plain beard trimmer.
The trade-off is runtime. Philips and the listing agree on 60 minutes from a 1.5-hour charge, against the Xiaomi's 90 minutes from 2 hours. It charges from a USB cable, which Philips's spec list gives as USB-A, with no adapter in the box.

- Blade
- Replace every 4 months at 2 full shaves a weekPhilips OneBlade QP2724/10 product page
Worth knowing
- The 8-hour charge time and the Ni-MH battery come from Philips's page. The listing gives the 45-minute runtime but no charge time, and describes the battery only as rechargeable.
- Replacement blades are an ongoing cost, and Philips's page lists the compatible ones (QP210, QP220, QP230 and others). Philips says a replacement indicator appears on the blade when it's time to change it.
- The listing's "Head Type" field says "Foil", while Philips's own page describes a dual-sided blade with a fast-moving cutter. Go by Philips's description.
Skip it if you want anything longer than 5 mm of stubble, or can't plan around an 8-hour charge.
The reasoning
The OneBlade is not a beard trimmer in the usual sense. Philips describes a dual-sided blade that trims with a comb on, cuts edges in either direction, and shaves. It comes with 3 click-on stubble combs at 1, 3 and 5 mm, so it suits stubble and very short beards; it can't keep a beard any longer than 5 mm.
It is one of two picks, with the MG9532 kit, that can be used wet. Philips's page calls the OneBlade fully waterproof, for wet or dry use and even in the shower, and the listing gives IPX7. The Xiaomi and the Philips BT3325/30 only claim washable heads. Philips's warranty policy excludes water damage unless the user manual says the product may be rinsed, so keep the manual with the invoice.
The costs are in the battery and the blade. Philips's page gives 45 minutes of use after an 8-hour charge from a Ni-MH battery, against 2 hours or less for the other picks. The blade should be replaced about every 4 months (Philips bases this on 2 full shaves a week), and Philips India's warranty policy gives shaving replacement heads no warranty, so the 2-year cover doesn't extend to replacement blades. It charges over USB-A, with no adapter included.

What we ruled out
- Bombay Shaving Company Power Styler beard trimmerIt lists 120 minutes, 38 settings from 0.5 to 20 mm and a 2-year warranty, but its water claim doesn't hold up: one bullet claims IPX5 water resistance, but the listing's own details table says it isn't waterproof, and Bombay Shaving Company's product page says "Water Resistant: No". The specifications and description on that page don't give a warranty term either.
- Vega Power Lite (VHTH-38)The closest call to the Xiaomi, with the same 40 settings, 0.5 to 20 mm and 90 minutes. Its listing gives 1 year in one bullet but 2 years in its title and details, and Vega's page explains that as 1 year standard plus 1 year extended, without saying what the extension requires. It lost on charging: Vega's own page describes Micro USB charging, though the listing says Type-C.
- Xiaomi Grooming KitOn Xiaomi's spec page it is the 2C with extra heads: 0.5 to 20 mm across 2 combs, 40 settings, up to 90 minutes from a 2-hour charge and 1 year of warranty, plus a precision blade, a nose and ear trimming blade and a body grooming blade. As a kit it lost to the Philips MG9532, which runs up to 120 minutes from a 60-minute charge, is sold as shower proof and offers more warranty on registration. If you want more length settings than the MG9532's 26 (40 here) and can live with 90 minutes and washable-only attachments, this is the kit to look at.
- Philips All-in-One Trimmer 7000 Series (MG7931/30)The closest kit to the MG9532. Philips's page gives it the same up to 120 minutes from a 60-minute charge, the same 100% shower proof claim and up to 5 years of warranty on registration, but its combs stop at 16 mm with 21 settings, against the MG9532's 20 mm and 26.
- Morphy Richards Kingsman Pro 12-in-1 grooming kitIt states 2 years of warranty, up to 120 minutes after a 2-hour charge, and itemises the box down to lubricating oil and a warranty card. But its multi-setting comb runs from 0.5 to 6 mm, with clipper combs at 3, 6, 9 and 12 mm, so a beard tops out well short of the MG9532's 20 mm. We have no brand page for it.
- Havells BT4001 beard and hair trimmerIts beard combs are fixed at 1, 2, 3 and 6 mm (plus 9 and 12 mm combs for hair), so it stops at 6 mm on the beard, well short of the Xiaomi's 20 mm, and below the Philips BT3325/30's 10 mm.
Before you buy
Check the maximum length
Among our picks, the Xiaomi Trimmer 2C and the Philips MG9532 reach 20 mm, the Philips BT3325/30 stops at 10 mm and the OneBlade's combs at 5 mm. Elsewhere, Xiaomi's Grooming Kit, the Vega Power Lite (VHTH-38) and the Bombay Shaving Company Power Styler list 20 mm, the Havells 6 mm on its beard combs (9 and 12 mm on its hair combs) and the VGR V-071 3 mm. Read the comb list, not just the maximum-length field: the olive Bombay Shaving Company Power Play NXT says 20 mm in its details table but 4 combs from 1 mm to 6 mm in its bullets, and Beardo's Chrome Beast gives its maximum as 40 inches.
Have a USB adapter ready
Xiaomi's spec page says the charging cable comes with no adapter, and Philips's pages for the BT3325/30, the OneBlade and the MG9532 say the same. Plan to use a phone charger or a laptop port.
Check how the warranty term is made up
The VGR V-071's title says 2 years while its warranty field says 1 year. The Vega VHTH-38's listing gives 1 year in a bullet and 2 years elsewhere, which Vega's page splits into 1 year standard and 1 year extended. The Philips BT3325/30's title says 3 years, but Philips's own page says 2; the extra year appears only on the listing, which ties it to "Philips registration". The MG9532's title says 5 years, which Philips's page gives only upon registration on Philips.com within 90 days. Philips's policy says an extended warranty, where offered, needs registering with My Philips within 90 days.
A washable head isn't a waterproof trimmer
Several of these trimmers say the blade or head can be detached and rinsed, but only some give an IPX figure, such as IPX7 on the OneBlade's and the MG9532's listings. Bombay Shaving Company's Power Styler claims IPX5 on the listing while its own page says it isn't water resistant, so don't take it into the shower on the strength of one bullet.
