You want one bag that takes a change of clothes, a towel, a bottle and your gym shoes without the shoes ending up on your clean shirt. Most gym duffle listings on Amazon.in give their size, weight and warranty in different places, or leave them out, so it is hard to tell them apart.
We read 30 Amazon.in listings, shortlisted 25 and compared them on capacity, weight, stated dimensions, shoe storage, ways to carry and the warranty each one states. For the Harissons Jake we also read Harissons' product page and its warranty policy, and we read Nivia's and Wooum's own pages for their bags. MuscleBlaze's site turned our requests away, so its Training Bag rests on its listing. Nobody here has carried these bags, so this is a reading of what the listings and brand pages say. One gap to know about: two Nike training duffels were left out because their listings named no brand in the brand field, so neither is weighed here.
Our pick is the Harissons Jake 31L, a duffel with a separate shoe compartment and back straps that turn it into a backpack, backed by a written warranty policy. If you carry a yoga mat or a racquet, the Gear Statement Maxis lists Velcro straps for carrying one. If you only need a small bag for the gym, the Nivia Beast Gym Bag-4 has a shoe compartment at about half the Jake's weight.

Why it's on the list
- Shoe compartment and backpack straps
- 31 litres, 24 x 23 x 56 cm
- 1 year against manufacturing defects
Worth knowing
- It is heavier than most bags on the shortlist. The listing gives 560 g, against 440 g for the Gear Statement Maxis, 350 g each for the Wooum and the MuscleBlaze Training Bag, and 300 g for the Nivia Beast Gym Bag-4.
- Harissons' product page says "Up to 48 months*" of warranty, but its policy gives 48 months only to luggage. Backpacks and other products get 12 months, or up to 24 if you fill in the extended warranty form within 15 days of delivery, and the policy doesn't say which row a duffel falls under. To claim, you keep the invoice, and if Harissons asks you to send the bag to its service centre in Bhiwandi, you pay the shipping; Harissons may repair or replace it at its discretion.
- The policy covers zip breakage, torn zipper tracks and seam defects, and excludes water exposure, overloading, accidents and normal wear and tear. So the water-resistant fabric is no promise against water damage.
Skip it if you mostly carry a change of clothes and would rather have a bag nearer 300 g than 560 g.
The reasoning
The Jake is a 31-litre duffel with a wide-opening main compartment, a quick-access front pocket and a separate shoe compartment. Its listing says it carries three ways, as a duffel, a backpack or a shoulder bag, using padded straps that come off, and Harissons' page describes back straps that tuck away when you don't need them. The listing gives the fabric as water-resistant 420D Dobby PU-coated polyester.
The size is stated plainly and it holds together. The details table gives 24 x 23 x 56 cm, Harissons' page gives the same three figures, and those dimensions multiply out to about 31 litres, which matches the capacity on the listing. That matters here because some rivals don't add up, as the ruled-out section shows.
What decided it is the pairing of shoe storage with a backpack carry. Plenty of shortlisted bags have a shoe compartment, among them the Nivia Beast, the Wooum, the Sfane, the MuscleBlaze Training Bag and two of Boldfit's gym bags, and the Gear Statement Maxis converts to a backpack. Of the bags we shortlisted, though, the Jake listings (this one and the navy-and-red version) are the only ones that describe both.
The warranty is spelled out more fully than any rival's. The listing states 1 year against manufacturing defects and gives Harissons' customer care email and phone number, and Harissons publishes its claim process and what it covers. Gear's listings state 1 year without saying what it covers, and the Tommy Hilfiger Marlon's listing gives a 1 year manufacturer's warranty and a warranty card in the box, again with no terms. Boldfit's listings say No Warranty, and the Nivia, Sfane and MuscleBlaze Training Bag listings don't mention one.

- Three-way use (listing): duffle, backpack or detachable shoulder strap; Velcro straps for yoga mats and racquetsAmazon.in listing
- Warranty
- 1 Year, no terms givenAmazon.in listing
Worth knowing
- The listing disagrees with itself on layout and size. The title says 2 Compartment and 33L, while the details table gives 1 compartment and 34 litres.
- Neither the title, the feature text nor the details table mentions a shoe compartment.
- The details table names Gear Merchandise in Kolkata as the maker but gives no phone or email. Two of Gear's Cross Training listings give 9830403366 for the same company. Gear's listings give no warranty terms beyond one Cross Training listing calling the 1-year warranty non-transferable, and we have no Gear brand page. Ask the seller before ordering if that matters.
Skip it if you want shoes kept apart from your clothes, or want warranty terms in writing before you buy.
The reasoning
The Statement Maxis is the other convertible bag on the shortlist. Its listing describes three ways to carry it, back straps that tuck away, a detachable padded shoulder strap and a mesh bottle pocket. The feature that sets it apart is a set of Velcro straps for carrying a yoga mat, a racquet or similar, which no other shortlisted listing mentions.
On paper it is roomier and lighter than the Jake: 34 litres in the details table (33L in the title) and 440 g, against 31 litres and 560 g. The listing gives 26 x 26 x 50 cm and a 1 Year warranty, and mentions bar-tacked load points and dual access to the main compartment.
It lost the top spot on two counts. The listing never mentions a shoe compartment, so shoes share the main space or go in a separate pouch. And its warranty is just "1 Year" in the details table, with no word on what it covers or how to claim, and we have no Gear brand page to fill that in.

Worth knowing
- Neither the listing nor the Nivia page we read mentions a warranty. If you want one in writing, the Jake states 1 year.
- The listing's closure field says Hook and Loop, while its feature text describes a wide-zip main opening and Nivia's page talks about durable zippers. The capacity differs by a litre too: 21 litres on the listing, 22 Ltr on Nivia's page.
Skip it if you need room for a weekend away, or want to wear the bag as a backpack.
The reasoning
The Beast Gym Bag-4 is a shoulder bag with a ventilated shoe compartment and a moisture-proof inner lining, according to its listing. Nivia's own page describes the same dedicated shoe pocket and a water-resistant finish. It weighs 300 g on the listing and measures 39 x 24 x 24 cm.
Next to the Jake it gives up the backpack straps and about a third of the room, 21 litres against 31, and weighs a little over half as much. That suits a bag that only goes between home, office and gym.
Boldfit's Gym Bag in black and grey came closest. It also lists 300 g and a shoe compartment, at 20 litres, but its listing gives no dimensions at all, and its feature text is the same copy Boldfit uses across its gym bags, so it says little about this one. The Nivia's listing and Nivia's page together give a clearer picture of what arrives.

Cut 5: 3 × too little buyer history on Amazon.in · 2 × no brand named
- Cut 2 Nike training duffels because their listings named no brand in the brand field, so they aren't covered.
- Cut 3 listings with too little buyer history on Amazon.in to include. They were PUMA's Fundamentals Sports Bag S, a PUMA Ignite gym duffle and a MuscleBlaze Pro training duffle.
- Compared the 25 that were left, a mix of shoulder duffles and convertible duffle-backpacks, on capacity, weight, stated dimensions, shoe storage, carry options and the warranty each listing states.
- Checked the Harissons Jake, the Nivia Beast gym bag, the Nivia Basic duffle and the Wooum duffle against their brands' own pages. MuscleBlaze's site refused our requests, and we have no brand page for Gear, Boldfit, Sfane, Aristocrat, Lifelong, Cult or Tommy Hilfiger, so those rest on their listings alone.

What we ruled out
- MuscleBlaze Training Bag with Shoe Compartment (NUT8925-01)It states the largest capacity on the shortlist, 45 litres, weighs 350 g against the Jake's 560 g, and has a dedicated shoe compartment, so on room and weight it beats our pick. Its 52 x 26 x 31 cm comes to a little under the 45 litres claimed, a smaller gap than the Wooum's. What separates them is the rest of the listing: it describes two hand straps and adjustable shoulder straps but never a backpack carry, its title, feature text and details don't mention a warranty, and its water resistance field says Not Water Resistant. MuscleBlaze's own site refused our requests, so none of this could be checked there. If you never wear a gym bag on your back and don't mind that the listing states no warranty (the Nivia Beast doesn't state one either), it is the roomier bag.
- Wooum Gym Duffle Bag with Shoe Compartment (1774)On paper it beats the Jake on room and weight, 35 litres at 350 g, with a shoe compartment. But its sizes don't hold together: the title and Wooum's page give 41 x 26 x 24 cm, and one details field gives the same three figures (41 x 24 x 26), which multiplies out to roughly 26 litres, while two other details fields give 43 x 29 x 28 cm, which comes to about the 35 litres claimed, so it isn't clear which size arrives. Its warranty is unclear too. Wooum's product page says it includes a 1 Year Warranty while a banner that runs across Wooum's site says 6 months warranty, and Wooum's warranty page is a registration form with no coverage terms.
- Boldfit Crossbody Gym Duffel Bag (IronVaultDuffleBagBlackGrey)It lists 28 litres, 310 g and a shoe compartment, more room than the Nivia Beast at about the same weight. But it gives no dimensions to check that against, and its feature text is the same copy as Boldfit's other gym bags, so the listing says little about this particular bag. Its listing also states No Warranty.
- Sfane Duffle/Shoulder/Gym Bag (BG - 05 HALF LTSHOE COMPTT)A 25-litre bag with a shoe compartment that has its own outside zips, at 390 g and 43 x 23 x 25 cm. It sits between our picks without beating either on what each was chosen for: its listing describes no backpack straps, unlike the Jake, and it is heavier than the Nivia Beast.
- Gear Cross Training Duffle Bag (DUFCRSTNG0406)Its title says 26L while its feature text and details table both say 22 liters, and none of the Gear Cross Training listings mentions a shoe compartment. The DUFCRSTNG0106 version has the same problem, 29L in the title against 22 litres in the details. That is a much wider gap than the litre or so that the Gear Statement Maxis and the Nivia Beast are off by.
- Tommy Hilfiger Marlon Gym Shoulder Bag (TH/MARLON08)Its listing states a 1 year manufacturer's warranty and a warranty card in the box, but no terms. At 850 g it is heavier than every other shortlisted bag except the Aristocrat Beast, it gives no capacity, and its sizes disagree: the title says 53 cms, the feature text 44 x 24 x 24 cm and the details table 54 x 28 x 28 cm. Nothing in the listing mentions a shoe compartment, and a search of Tommy Hilfiger's India site found no Marlon page.
Before you buy
Check that the size adds up
Multiply out the three dimensions and see whether they come near the litres claimed. The Jake's 24 x 23 x 56 cm comes to about its stated 31 litres; a bag whose figures don't add up may arrive smaller than you expect.
Decide where the shoes go
Some listings describe a separate shoe compartment, others only say the main section has room for shoes. If you carry gym shoes every day, pick one that names a compartment.
Read the warranty field, not the badge
Gear, Harissons and Tommy Hilfiger list a 1-year term, as does the Wooum's title, Boldfit's listings say No Warranty, and several others say nothing. Harissons' site asks buyers to register within 15 days of delivery, so do that when the bag arrives.
Water-resistant is not waterproof
Most listings call their bags water-resistant, though the MuscleBlaze Training Bag and the Aristocrat Power say Not Water Resistant. Harissons' own policy excludes water exposure from its warranty, so keep electronics in a separate pouch on wet days. Boldfit's listings go further and say waterproof, without saying to what standard.
