- The wheel count isn't consistent. The title and details table say 4 spinner wheels, a bullet says 8 wheel, and American Tourister's page says double wheels.
- American Tourister's warranty covers manufacturing defects only. It leaves out misuse, neglect, accidents, abrasion, extreme temperatures, solvents, acids, water, normal wear and tear and transport damage, naming airlines as an example. The service centre decides whether a claim is covered, you pay to get the bag there, you need the completed warranty certificate or the original receipt, and it applies only to the first buyer or a gift recipient. It also carries the longest stated warranty of the three picks. The listing's bullets say 3 years global, and American Tourister's page lists 3 years and says the warranty can be used at any approved Samsonite service centre in the world. The NOVEX Disney Frozen 22-inch lists 2 years, and the NOVEX Disney Princess listing names no term.
The trade-off is room. At 25 litres it lists less room than the Princess (30 litres) or the Frozen (48 litres). It is the lowest of the three at 39.5 cm, though at 49 cm long it is about as long as the Princess is tall. Go by centimetres, not inches
Inch sizes on these listings don't tell you much. The NOVEX Princess calls itself 18 inch at 50 cm tall, Polo Class calls its Mac-107 18 inch while the listing title says 32 cm, and the Polo Class Baby Panda is 18 inch on a listing that also gives 29 cm. Heights in the shortlist's details tables run from 29 cm to the American Tourister Splash's 66 cm.
Look for the warranty in writing
Only 5 of the 13 listings we compared state a term: 3 years on the two Skiddle listings and the Splash, 2 years on the NOVEX Frozen, and 1 year on the Polo Class Mac-107.
